Kudos To Sharon McMillan

About 2 years ago Sharon McMillan had an education therapy client whom she saw consistently once a week.  He was a very bright kid with some comprehension issues.

Out of the blue, his mom texted her, and this is what she said:

Thank you, you made a major impact on our son’s life and future.  He was accepted into a Magnet High School. Thank you again, you will NEVER be forgotten.

Hugs to you our friend. (The mother followed up this message with a wonderful photo of her son.)

Sometimes we may wonder if our clients remember our efforts. It’s nice to get this great confirmation for our work.

Greetings From Helen

Hi to Everyone!

We are back in full service starting in August, which is next week. Where did the summer go? At the office we are busy hiring, planning, scheduling, and as always, billing. We are very proud of our retention rate which is about 90%. Many of you have been with us for over 10 years and we are proud and pleased with that fact. All of our programs are doing well and are growing. I am looking forward to seeing our staff at our September 8, 2015 meeting at the Pickwick in beautiful, downtown Burbank.

For this coming year we have planned four very useful continuing education presentations. We hope that you will be able to attend at least one of the presentations. We will be hoping to do our presentations twice, once in Encino and once in Culver City.

Our Culver City office is very busy and we have definitely run out of space. I have been speaking to the Westside Regional Center about subleasing space from them. So far there is no space available, and so we are looking at other sites. More to come on that front.

I look forward to seeing all of you at the meeting. I can always be reached on my direct line, which is 818 616-5018.

Stay in touch and thank you for our association.

Best,

Helen

This is a great “Back to School” article from The Hanen Center on helping our preschoolers and school age children to develop critical thinking skills, with a focus on the strong link between language and literacy.  It’s accessible for non-members.
